It was a winning weekend for Wight Eagles Academy following emphatic wins against mainland opposition for both the under 13s and under 15s.
In front of new kit sponsors DW Construction IW Ltd, the U13 girls extended their unbeaten start to the season with 4 wins out of 4 games under new manager Dean Attrill.
The goals came from Evlynn 3, Isabelle 2, Maisy 1 with Lexi completing the scoreline for the Eagles.
On the other side of the GKN Sports Ground, the U15s gave an entertaining game in front of their new kit sponsors Maximus Support Services, as they hosted an AFC Stoneham academy side. The Eagles beat the Southampton-based side 8-1, with goals from Kelsie 3, Amiee 3 and 2 from Isla to finish the game off.
A Wight Eagles Spokesperson has said:
“Wight Eagles FC would like thank both sponsors for their kindness in providing these kits, and we would like to thank everyone who came up to watch and cheer the girls on. It shows the support for girls football on the island is there and fully appreciated.”
