Firefighters from Newport have this evening (Tuesday) tackled a garden fire in Northwood.
One appliance from Newport Fire Station was called to an address on Cowes Road at 20:00 following reports that an out of control bonfire had spread to a nearby fence and hedge.
The single crew used a hose reel to extinguished the blaze, which destroyed a fence and shed and caused damage to the garden hedge.
Thankfully, the fire did not spread to the adjoining garden.
Crews left the scene and returned to station around 45 minutes later.
