FRESHWATER BAY WIN FIERCELY CONTESTED FOURSOMES LEAGUE COMPETITION

It was an exciting finish to this year’s Isle of Wight Ladies Golf Association Foursomes league competition with the winning team being decided on the last match of the final day. A total of 7 Island clubs took part in the interclub match play competition over 6 weeks, with Freshwater Bay Golf Club taking the top position with a final score of 15 points, beating last year’s winners, Shanklin and Sandown Golf Club, who also had 15 points but lost out on a points tally countback. IWLGA Captain Joan Dalrymple presented the Foursomes league shield to the team from Freshwater Bay and the runner-up shield to Shanklin and Sandown.
