UPDATED: Areas of dense, freezing fog are expected to form again throughout tonight and into Tuesday morning, leading to more disruption for Islanders.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for fog from 17:00 today until 11:00 tomorrow morning. The fog is expected to slowly thin and lift during Tuesday although it may persist in some areas throughout the day.
Cross-Solent travel has been affected by the thick fog throughout the day, leading to 2 hours delays on some routes. Further disruption is to be expected.
UPDATE TUESDAY @ 11:35 – The Met Office has issued another weather warning, this time for both fog and ice.
The fresh warning is in place from 18:00 this evening until 11:00 on Wednesday morning.
Forecasters say the fog will become more widespread through the night, with icy patches on untreated roads and paths an additional hazard.
