Island Roads have implemented an emergency road closure on Bowcombe Road this afternoon (Tuesday) due to flooding.
Intense downpours of rain have led to the carriageway becoming flooded outside Rowborough Farm. It has been deemed unsafe for motorists.
The closure is affecting the main road between Carisbrooke and the village of Shorwell. Motorists are being diverted via Brighstone, Calbourne and Middle Road in both directions.
UPDATE @ 19:30 – The road has now reopened.
