The Environment Agency has issued a flood alert for the Isle of Wight coast tonight (Thursday).
According to forecasts, water levels will be marginally higher than observed on a more typical high spring tide. As a result, minor spray overtopping and very low level over washing of the sea defences could occur in low lying locations which will affect sea front roads, promenades and coastal car parks.
Water levels will be high up slipways in Cowes and around Medina Road at the floating bridge slipway. Property flooding is not expected.
A Force 5 South Westerly wind is expected tonight. The Met Office is warning of gusts of up to 70mph on Saturday.

Predicted astronomical tide level: 1.81mAOD
Forecast surge height: 0.34m
Forecast high water level at Cowes: 2.15mAOD (or 4.74mCD)
