Two flats in Sandown High Street were evacuated in the early hours of this morning after a fire broke out in a popular fish and chip shop.
Three appliances from Newport, Sandown and Shanklin were called to the scene at Fat Harry’s just after 02:30 this morning after receiving reports of a fire at the three-storey property.
Although no serious damage was sustained to the premises, one female was treated by paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
The incident was closed around 40 minutes later.
Fat Harry’s was open as usual today.
