A reported fire in a smoke-logged residential address in Shanklin led to an emergency response by firefighters earlier this afternoon (Monday).
Retained crews from Shanklin and Ventnor were mobilised to Scotchells Close, off Whitecross Lane, at just before 16:15.
The first appliance was on scene in just a few minutes, identifying that the fire was out upon arrival.
Breathing apparatus was used to allow firefighters to enter the building, with positive pressure ventilation then utilised to rid lingering smoke.
The incident was short lived and wrapped up within half an hour.
