UPDATED: Firefighters are in attendance at an extremely minor road traffic collision at the dry end of Ryde Pier this afternoon (Sunday).
An elderly female driver has lightly collided with a bollard at the exit of the pier, prompting the turnout of a fire appliance and Land Rover from Ryde Fire Station.
The car – a red VW Polo – has sustained nothing more than scratches in the incident, which occurred at just before 16:30.
Firefighters have moved the vehicle into a parking space and are preparing to return to station.
UPDATE @ 16:59 – Fire crews have now left the scene. Police and ambulance crews have not attended.
The driver is expected to drive the vehicle away from the Esplanade shortly.
