UPDATED: Fire crews have this afternoon assisted in freeing a man from an East Cowes property.
Firefighters from East Cowes were called to Captain’s Parade near Beatrice Avenue shortly before 13:00 after reports that an engineer had become stuck in the terraced property.
Island Echo understand the engineer, working on behalf of Robert Heath Heating, was servicing a storage tank when the incident occurred. It is currently unclear how the man became trapped in the new-build property.
Further assistance was requested from wholetime firefighters at Newport Fire Station, who also attended the scene.
The incident concluded at 14:30.
UPDATE @ 16:55 – Further information received suggests the engineer was stuck in a boiler cupboard, not a loft as originally reported.
