Fire crews rushed to Cowes Enterprise College earlier this afternoon (Tuesday) following fears of a fire at the school.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service was called shortly after 16:00 when an alarm was activated and a smell of smoke was identified.
4 appliances from Cowes, Newport and Ryde all responded to Crossfield Avenue, alongside an Aerial Ladder Platform from Newport.
It’s been confirmed that the smell was caused by a fan on the roof.
Crews stood down at around 18:00.
