Two appliances from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have this evening (Tuesday) responded to reports of a property fire in Carisbrooke.
Firefighters from Newport Fire Station were called to the scene on Wellington Road in Carisbrooke shortly before 20:55 following a 999 call alerting them to the incident.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus have entered the semi-detached property and have successfully extinguished the fire, which is understood to have started in the bathroom.
One female has been treated for minor smoke inhalation.
The road is blocked by the appliances.
UPDATE @ 21:40 – Both crews are now leaving the scene.
