News in Brief

FIRE SERVICE CALLED TO BURNT TOAST

The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were called to Longmead Road in Ryde this morning (Monday).

A whole-time pump from Newport that was training at Ryde Fire Station was mobilised to reports of an AFA (Automatic Fire Alarm) sounding.

Upon arrival crews established burnt toast was to be blamed for the callout.

Safety advice was given to the occupier and the crew from Newport returned to Ryde Fire Station to continue with their training.
