Two fire appliances from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have this evening (Thursday) attended a property in Ventnor following reports of smoke coming from the building.
Firefighters responded to the incident in Market Street in the center of the town shortly after 18:40, however left the scene within the hour.
An electrical fire was discovered on the ground floor and was extinguished with a hose reel. Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property.
A fire officer also attended the scene alongside engineers from Southern Electric.
No one has been injured in the incident.
