UPDATED: Firefighters are this evening attending a reported fire at a hotel in Shanklin.
Three appliances are in attendance at Daish’s Hotel near to the Old Village where a laundry room is understood to be smoke-logged.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus have entered the building and are tackling the fire having isolated energy supplies.
Crews were called to the scene shortly before 18:00.
UPDATE @ 18:30 – The fire has been successfully contained and extinguished by the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, who are now investigating the cause of the incident.
No persons have been injured.
