UPDATED: At least 3 appliances from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are attending an incident at GKN in East Cowes.
Crews from Ryde and Newport were mobilised to the Osborne site at just before 21:30.
It is currently unclear as to what has sparked the response, but there is no obvious signs of fire.
UPDATE @ 22:45 – It has been confirmed that one of the factory’s large curing chambers has sparked tonight’s turnout.
Thankfully, the incident has been brought under control with the assistance of engineers.
Fire crews are expected to return to station shortly.
