One pumping appliance from Newport Fire Station attended a small fire in the open in Whitwell this evening (Thursday).
The alarm was raised by a local resident at around 18:00, after reporting a fire in a field off of Kemming Road between Whitwell and Niton.
Crews spent around 20 minutes extinguishing the blaze using a hose reel.
