The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service rushed to a care home for those with special needs in Ryde during the early hours of this morning (Thursday) after a fire broke out.
4 appliances were mobilised to West Street in the town at just before 00:45 following reports of a fire at Woodville, part of the Ryde House group.
Thankfully, the small fire was extinguished quickly and all residents and staff were safely evacuated.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service treated 7 people at the scene for minor smoke inhalation.
