UPDATED: Firefighters from Newport, Shanklin and Ventnor are this evening (Sunday) responding to a field fire in Arreton.
Two appliances and a water carrier are currently attending the incident off the main road.
UPDATE @ 20:51 – Upon arrival at the scene, it was discovered that controlled burning was taking place and that there was no cause for concern.
All appliances have now left the scene.
