Isle of Wight Festival fans travelling with Wightlink will be treated to a ‘deck disco’ at its Portsmouth car ferry terminal while they wait for their ferries to the festival on Thursday (16th June).
Musical entertainment will be provided by DJs from Isle of Wight-based Hush, who although they normally host silent discos, will be turning up the volume on the upper car deck to get people in the mood to party.
Hush – who consist of DJs; DJ Crabbie, DJ Josh Peverley and DJ Stu Murray – will then head to the Isle of Wight Festival themselves where they will be providing the silent disco at The Intoxicated Tea Rooms.
Ferry passengers may even spot some famous faces during their sailing. In past years, celebrities such as Tom Jones, Roger Daltrey, Noel Gallagher, Rag ‘n’ Bone Man, Run DMC and the Stereophonics, have been on board and were happy to chat with fans.
Wightlink Chief Executive Keith Greenfield said:
“We’re excited to see the Isle of Wight Festival return to its usual spot in June and are looking forward to welcoming thousands of music lovers as they travel to the Island for what promises to be a spectacular weekend.
“Everyone at our ports and on our ships and FastCats is ready to welcome revellers on this busy but fun weekend.”

I think that is a brilliant idea x
Have mercy on normal travellers, we don’t all want to be deafened by pop music.
“pop music” lol. 1960 phoned and wants its phrase back.
It’s enough to make you travel by Red Funnel!
I bet he is looking forward to welcoming music lovers at nearly £200 for a return car ticket
What a load of tripe. If only people really knew how simple it is to make music this way. And what about the people who want to relax on their expensive trip, can they ask for a refund as the journey was not fit for purpose.
Surprise, suprise. People moaning just to moan. There is nothing relaxing about travelling festival weekend anyway. Its 4 days out of a year. Lighten up a little.
Fully agree, it doesn’t take long for the haters to appear.
Busy fun and wet weekend!
