A man who drew a phallus in graffiti on the wall of a holiday park where he worked at the time has pleaded guilty to criminal damage.
Daniel Lewis, 27, of Church Road in Havenstreet, pleaded guilty to a single charge of criminal damage when he appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Ann Smout, prosecuting, told the court that on 26th July 2022, a penis was drawn in graffiti on the wall of the reception at Nodes Point Holiday Park – an establishment at which Lewis used to work at.
CCTV was checked and it was confirmed that it was Lewis was the perpetrator.
There was some discrepancy regarding the total amount of damage caused in pounds with the holiday park believing the damage was worth around £540, whilst Lewis – through his solicitor Michael McGoldrick – thought the graffiti could be cleaned using a bottle of white spirit.
Because of this, Magistrates deemed a Newton Hearing necessary to establish the exact damage caused.
Lewis will next appear before Magistrates on 23rd March.

Well somebody’s got to say it….What a d**k!!!
Not condoning criminal damage – 1) think maybe damage could of easily been cleaned off or painted over – reparation.
2) Really not in public interest to arrest and take to court when rapist’s,drug dealers and burglar’s and scammers fraudulently taking from vunerable.
Naughty boy ,but hardly the crime of the year when you look around what’s going on
Still a crime. Should be prosecuted. You would be the first to shout for hanging if someone vandalized your car.
Vandalizing a car is very different as personal property,he drew a p….s on a wall. Have you not had boy kids who think it’s funny and draw them on their books, bags, hands and toilets, seats etc etc,we would have hundreds of child criminals. We are just saying thousands of pounds spent on police,CPS and courts to get maybe a small fine and criminal record preventing him from working ( more tax payers money on universal credit) is not in public interest. Police should be out dealing with serious matters. We hear on news today it takes two year’s to get a child sexual abuse case in court because of Court backlog and not a priority?????. Just should of made him clean off himself and ban from site.
Did you sit for a portrait for this guy as its obvious you’re a knob head with comments like this.
Must off been a big one for that price
And now the moran has a criminal record.
So should you with that spelling.
I would have done it much cheaper
It wasn’t going too cost 500 pounds to clean, but when the contractor went to clean it off it kept getting bigger and bigger!
The joy this drawing brings never grows old. My 9 year old and his friends love to sketch it wherever they go, on the side of a dirty car or with a stick on the beach even though I repeatedly ask them not to.
Yo, yummy mummy, lol, boys never grow up, i wish you was my mum.
Another one of the islands homegrown scum, will be in parkhurst soon.
A good rub will get rid of it as the defendant’s solicitor suggests. White spirit and it will be gone in no time, if not immediately.
Seriously!! I agree with other comment.Assaults, drugs, vandalising empty hotels and public toilets etc etc… and the courts taken up with a disgruntled employee that drew on a park sign.!!
Been more impressive if he’d drawn a holiday park on his penis!
I had to go to court in between the pandemics/lock downs for a similar offence.
I wrote WIGHT LIVES MATTER on the shelter at Sandown beach,
It was aimed at all the covid tourist on a cheap holiday.
Police turned up and arrested me for a hate crime/criminal damage.
24 hours in the cells, court next day via vidio link, 6 months good behaviour bond and 585 pound fine. I pleaded not guilty on the race hate BS, otherwise i would still be in prison.
Wight lives does not matter
Sounds like a cock and ball story to me.
Parkdean is not that bad
How ironic – a penis drawing another penis.
What is wrong with the police on IOW and PARKDEAN resorts? This is a ridiculous waste of police and court time.
The CPS should be ashamed of itself using public funds for this petty act.
