An emergency road closure has been put in place on Station Road in Shalfeet this morning (Friday) to enable Southern Water to carry out repairs to burst 9″ water main.
The diversion is via Wilmingham Lane which currently forms part of the diversion for the Yarmouth Bridge closure.
Station Road has been closed between Ningwood Hill to its junction with Warlands Lane for a distance of 614 metres.
The temporary traffic regulations order reads:
“Station Road from its junction with Ningwood Hill to its junction with Warlands Lane for a distance of 614 metres.
“Southern Water to carryout repairs to burst 9” main.
“The diversion will affect these streets: Wellow Road, Main Road, North View, Thorley Street, Thorley Road, Bouldnor Road, Viewpoint Car Park, Yarmouth Road, Ningwood Hill
“Diversion route(s) will be signed at the time of closure. Reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises while the road is closed.
“From 09:00 hours on 19th December 2019, for a maximum period of five days or until the works are complete, whichever is sooner.”
