An emergency closure has been put in place on Beachfield Road in Sandown this afternoon (Thursday).
The road has been closed between its junction with Pier Street and its junction with Royal Street. The closure is in place to allow a dangerous manhole to be remedied.
Southern Vectis has announced that its routes will divert from High Street via, Albert street, Avenue Road, and The Broadway until further notice
The road will be closed until the 12th of October, or until the works have finished – whichever is sooner.
The diversion signs had gone at 1500 hrs today
