A vibrant new dance event is set to bring the community together in Ryde as Embracing Dance takes part in Let’s Dance, a nationwide movement encouraging people across the UK to embrace dance for better health, stronger connections and enjoyment.
Founded by broadcaster Angela Rippon, Let’s Dance was inspired by her experience of rediscovering the physical, mental and social benefits of dance later in life, including her appearance on Strictly Come Dancing.
The campaign is supported by organisations including the Sport and Recreation Alliance, NHS and Parkinson’s UK.
As part of the initiative, Embracing Dance will host a special ‘Dance Through the Ages’ event on Sunday (8th March) between 10:00-15:00.
The day will feature:
- Four decades of music
- Four different dance styles
- Free in-person classes
- Free online sessions accessible from home
Organisers say the event has been designed to be fully inclusive, welcoming participants of all ages and experience levels, from complete beginners to experienced dancers.
Attendees can take part in 4 hourly sessions and are invited to join 1 or stay for the full day.

Laura Holme, Owner, has said:
“Dance has the power to transform lives.
“We’re thrilled to support Let’s Dance and offer our community the chance to experience the joy, connection and health benefits that come from moving together.”
Spaces are limited and early booking is encouraged. Organisers say participants can expect a supportive atmosphere, nostalgic music and opportunities to connect with others.
The free event takes place in Ryde, with further details and booking available at www.embracingdance.co.uk. Laura can also be contacted on 07811289526 for more information.
