The vibrant creativity of Isle of Wight artists will be showcased at the annual Open Studios event between now and Sunday 8th September 2024. Steeped in a rich history of fostering community and creativity, the event opens doors — quite literally — to the vibrant studios of local artists, inviting both residents and visitors to embark on a journey of artistic discovery; right across all five areas of our Island’s UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. During the annual Open Studios event, which features over 120 artists and craftspeople, you can wander through studios, local venues, pop-up exhibitions and galleries, where you’ll encounter a rich tapestry of artistic expression. From contemporary marvels to traditional treasures, there’s something for everyone. So, you can immerse yourself in the world of painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, textiles, jewellery, ceramics, and more, and meet the makers behind the art. You can be sure of a warm welcome from the artists you choose to visit. The Isle of Wight has a huge community of artists spread across all four corners of our beautiful Island. To help you plan your visit, we’ve mapped out five area locations highlighting Isle of Wight Open Studios 2024 venues. Artists have selected what dates/times they will open their studios during the event, but generally opening times will be from 11:00 to 17:00 (unless otherwise specified in artists ‘about’ sections of their web profile page) and they’re all free to visit. Head along to the Isle of Wight Open Studios website to find out more about each artist and look at a snapshot of their work. To make the most of your Open Studios experience, and plan your own art trail, explore the interactive maps and view or download a copy of the Isle of Wight Open Studios 2024 brochure, which is split by area and has the variations in artists’ opening days and times.
