Police have launched an investigation after an expensive off-road electric motorcycle was stolen in Newport overnight, with 3 garages and a family home broken into. The black and white 72v e-motorcycle – worth £6,000 – was stolen from a garage off Westmill Road, near to Priors Walk in Carisbrooke, sometime between 21:00 last night and 03:00 this morning (Christmas Eve). 3 different garages were damaged as the thief – or thieves – tried to locate the vehicle, which was only purchased last week. A spare key for the bike was taken from a nearby residential property too, suggesting it was a targeted theft.
The motorcycle is said to be in a dirty condition with a broken rear light. It is used for off-roading and therefore doesn’t have a legal number plate. A plate does supply ‘Surron’ though. Anyone with information should contact Police on 101, quoting 44230524073.
