Wight Milk, located at the top end of Havenstreet at Coppid Hall Farm, have just launched a new initiative to make shopping easy for residents looking to purchase local produce.
The independent dairy, owned by the George family since early last century, have set up a produce hut at the roadside allowing Island residents and tourists alike to quickly and conveniently stop off for daily essentials.
Milk is produced on-site from the farm’s quality herd of cows, which are fed on food that is sourced from GM FREE products.
The hut, which opened on Thursday, is open from 07:00 in the morning until around 19:00 at night. It is hoped that as the clocks go forward this weekend, the opening hours will extend.
Henry George told Island Echo: “Our new shed is a way of conveniently providing passers-by and locals with fresh milk and cream, both produced on the farm here, as well as locally sourced eggs and potatoes.
“The comment book from just the past couple of days is full of local people saying how much they value it, which we are very grateful for!”
You can visit Wight Milk on the main Havenstreet road prior to the junction with Firestone Copse Road (PO33 4DH) or you can call the farm on 01983 882489 or alternatively email [email protected].
