East Cowes Victoria Athletic Football Club have announced the departure of their manager, Richard Woodburn.
It has been a difficult season for Vics, following the departure of key players Brandon Hayward, Harri Catania and Jimmi Burton to their Cowes neighbours.
Vics currently lie 3rd-from-bottom in Wessex Division 1. They have been without a home win all season.
Woodburn’s departure follows a 1-7 home defeat to Fawley at Beatrice Avenue on Tuesday evening.
The club wrote on their Facebook page today:
“East Cowes Victoria AFC are to announce that they have parted company with their manager Richie Woodburn.
East Cowes Vics would like to thank Richie for his dedicated work both on and off the pitch and wish Richie every success in the future.
East Cowes Vics will name a successor to Richie in due course.”
Richard Woodburn joined East Cowes Vics in November 2019, following the resignation of Steve Brougham.
Richie formerly managed Cowes Sports, taking them to the Wessex Premier in 2014.

Seems to be a bit of poisoned chalice, they just can’t seem to get it right or attract the players, l think relegation threatens them, but do wish the new manger and his team well
