East Cowes Sports comfortably saw off fellow Division 2 side Ryde Saints in an all-Island clash at the GKN Sports Ground on Saturday (13th December).
Andy Ebbs opened the scoring for ECS with an audacious lob in the 7th minute (1-0). Fin Ray then added a 2nd for the home side by rounding the keeper in the 14th (2-0). Chris Turner then added a 3rd for ECS 6 minutes from the half time interval (3-0). East Cowes Sports 4th goal came midway through the 2nd half courtesy of Aiden Jones (4-0).

In other 3rd Round Hampshire Vase games, Sandown & Lake got through to the next round with an emphatic win over Wickham Dynamos on North Island. Jim Cantello, Shay Dixon, Ethan Dicker, Dylan Andrews and Jimmy Golding were the Shanklin scorers as they put 5 past the mainland side without reply.
Brading Town Reserves were knocked out of the Vase by Yateley United Under-23s – their first game in 6 weeks. Connor Coburn and Jamie Linington were on target for the Romans in their 2-5 defeat at the Peter Henry Ground.

In the Isle of Wight Challenge Cup…
West Wight have reached the semi finals of the Challenge Cup by defeating Bembridge & Vectis at Steyne Park on penalties. Jez Conway and Jamie Barratt were the scorers for Bembridge, with Ash Brett and Casey Tyrell on target for West Wight as the sides drew 2-2 over full time play. Sadly, the game was marred by a serious injury to Bembridge centre back Jake McNaney, who fractured his tibia early in the 2nd half.
Brading Town are also through to the semi finals after overcoming Osborne Coburg at Victoria Rec courtesy of an Issac Glynn hat trick, a Liam Reynolds brace and a further goal from Caleb Dyer in their 1-6 win.
Shanklin have booked their place in the semi finals at the expense of Cowes Sports Reserves at the County Ground thanks to a Jamie Trowbridge brace and an Ash Goldsmith penalty save in their 2-0 victory.

Northwood St Johns have gone 4th in Harwoods Division 1 by beating Oakfield at Slade Road, courtesy of a Lewis Blackmore brace and further goals from Charlie Butt, Connor Mooney and Barney Snaith.
