A Remembrance tribute has been created by the ladies and gents of East Cowes Town Crafters, remembering those that gave their tomorrow for our today.
The craft group, guided by Judith Powell and Joy Cleightonhills, have been knitting, crocheting and cutting fabric poppies for months – so many that they have lost count!
Throughout the day there are smaller tributes including a commemorative wreath board that has 5 poems on, some traditional and some through the eyes of a child.
Thanks has been expressed to Nick Greenhaig (Co-Op Manager) and to Red Funnel for allowing the use of their fences for the tributes. Thanks also goes to Leigh Taylor of Age UK for allowing Jacquie Bennett and Jo Knightley to create a window display.
East Cowes Town Crafters meet every Wednesday between 10:00-13:00 and 18:00-21:00 at the convent. More information can be found on their Facebook Group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/276795237096503.
