Yarmouth RNLI’s All Weather Lifeboat was requested to launch by Solent Coastguard early this morning (Saturday) to assist a motor vessel near to Freshwater.
The 42ft ‘Charlotte Picot III’ lost steering just south of The Needles shortly after 07:00, prompting the assistance of the volunteer lifeboat crew who towed the vessel to the safety of Yarmouth Harbour.
The Needles Coastguard Rescue Team were on land providing assistance.
