UPDATED: A delivery driver has become trapped inside his van following a collision with a bus in Ryde this morning (Saturday).
Emergency services were called to the scene on Queens Road in the town at around 08:35, where it was discovered that a Medina Food Service delivery van had become wedged between a garden wall and a Southern Vectis bus, trapping the driver inside.
Amazingly, no persons have been injured in the collision and the road remains open with traffic under Police direction.
Recovery of both vehicles has been arranged and once the bus is moved, the Medina Food Service driver will be able to leave the vehicle.
UPDATE @ 10:35 – The scene has now been cleared.
Damage has been sustained to the van’s refrigeration unit and side door, whilst one of the bus’ rear windows has been smashed.
