A 43-year-old man is said to be in a life-threatening condition in Southampton General Hospital following a collision between a car and tractor near Cowes yesterday morning (Monday).
As previously reported by Island Echo, a car was involved in a collision with a tractor on Newport Road by the Isle of Wight County Show Ground and caught fire at around 06:00 yesterday morning, resulting in the road being closed for a short time.
Today, Hampshire Constabulary have confirmed that the driver of a Black Mazda 2 TS has suffered severe head injuries and having been initially taken to St Mary’s Hospital, has since been transferred to Southampton General Hospital, as reported by Island Echo earlier today.
A Collision Investigation Unit from the mainland has been examining the scene as Police try to piece together the events of the serious collision.
