Firefighters extricated a driver from the wreckage of their car following a collision with a motorcycle in Chale last night (Thursday).
Emergency services were alerted to the incident at the junction of Chale Street and Military Road at around 23:45.
Island Echo understands the car was involved in a head-on collision with a motorcycle, resulting in the motorcyclist sustaining serious leg injuries.
Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue crews from Newport and Ventnor attended the scene and cut the male car driver free.
Both the driver and motorcyclist were conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital by land ambulance.
