Yarmouth RNLI were paged to assist a jetski that was drifting towards Yarmouth Pier and the busy harbour entrance this afternoon (Sunday).
The volunteer crew reached the personal watercraft within minutes of launching shortly after 14:40, to find that the jetski had started to sink with the casualty rider found holding on to a slipway.
The All Weather Lifeboat (ALB) launched the smaller Y boat and aided the casualty and jetski to the Royal Solent Yacht Club, where The Needles Coastguard Rescue Team were awaiting their arrival.
Yarmouth’s crew and ALB were ready for service again at 15:30.
Today’s incident comes just 24 hours after Yarmouth RNLI assisted a 35ft yacht.
