Police are asking for the public’s help as they hunt down 35-year-old Luke Thorpe, who is wanted on recall to prison.
Officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary have been following various lines of enquiry to locate Thorpe, who was jailed for 32 months in 2022 for affray.
It is said that the 35-year-old has links to Newport, Ryde, and Cowes – but he may have also travelled off the Island.
Luke is described as 5ft 10ins tall, of medium build with brown, straight hair. He has blue eyes and a beard. He has tattoos on his arms and neck.
A Police spokesperson has said:
“We would like to remind people that anyone found to be harbouring Luke to deliberately obstruct our attempts to locate him may be committing an offence and be liable for arrest themselves”.
If you have seen him, or have information regarding his whereabouts, do not approach him – instead contact Police on 999, quoting 44250511505.
UPDATE MONDAY 15TH – 35-year-old Luke Thorpe, of no fixed address, has been charged with 4 counts of theft from a shop, and possession of a controlled Class B drug.
He is to appear before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court today.

A small point, but why is this absconding violent criminal accorded the nicety of calling him by his first name? That seems to be an Echo policy. It should be a privilege reserved for family, friends or celebs. His name is Thorpe. And not Mr. Thorpe.
