Multiple thefts of logs from 2 honesty shops on the outskirts of Newport has led to The Log Man removing all of his stock.
Until recently, locals have had the convenience of being able to buy logs at their local pub car park.
Honesty shops have been in operation at The Waverly, Carisbrooke and The Blacksmith Arms on Middle Road. However, just as the weather turns cold and icy, the decision has been taken to shut up shop as a result of a rather dishonest individual or individuals.
Police have been informed of the thefts and officers are reviewing CCTV, which was previously installed due to theft.
