Concerns over the stability of a house in Newport has resulted in an emergency road closure being put in force this afternoon (Wednesday).
Island Roads have closed Lugley Street in the town to prevent the likelihood of danger to the public.
Scaffolding has been erected around the house in question and barriers have been placed on the carriageway.
It is unknown how long the road will remain closed for.
The diversion route is St James’ Street, Crocker Street and Holyrood Street.
