bembridgecoastguardtrailerbeachrespondingThe identity of a body discovered at the foot of Culver Cliff on Monday has been confirmed as that of a local 58-year-old woman.

As previously reported by Island Echo, Coastguard Rescue Teams from Bembridge and Ventnor recovered the body of a female at Yaverland Beach on Monday evening after Police discovered what is believed to be a handbag at the top of Culver Down.

An inquest was opened into the death today (Thursday), confirming the body to be that of Pamela Melville, 58, of Landguard Road, Shanklin.

She died from multiple injuries. The inquest has been adjourned until December.
