VIDEO: Crowds of onlookers gathered at a Sandown beach earlier this evening (Monday) after a car got into a bit of a sticky situation.
A Jeep Cherokee got well and truly stuck in the sand after recovering a jet ski from the bay at around 19:00, prompting Police to attend the scene on the Esplanade to see what could be done to get the sport enthusiast and his vehicle on their way.
With the assistance of two 4x4s and after the trailer had been detached, the car was eventually pulled free from the deep sand ruts, as photographed and videoed by local Jen Cook.
Thankfully the tide was heading out preventing a repeat of a similar incident in Ryde last July.
