72 members of Shanklin & Sandown Golf Club took part in their annual Cross-Country Competition on Sunday 13th August.
The cross-country competition required extensive preparation by the greens staff. This was no competition for the faint-hearted.
Playing a Texas Scramble in teams of 4 from a shot-gun start, the large field teed off from the 1st tee to the 3rd green, the 6th fairway to the 12th green, and the 13th tee to the 4th green.
The winners of the Cross Country competition were Chris Harvey, Paul Cock, Sandie Gallard-Jupp and Alex Perrin scoring a net 43.5. 2nd place, on count-back, went to Tony Williams, Linda Piche, Robert and Jane Wilson with a net 44.
