UPDATED: Firefighters are tackling a small blaze off Westminster Lane in Newport this evening (Monday).
2 appliances from Newport are in attendance having been alerted to the fire at just before 18:15.
It is understood an outbuilding has caught light.
UPDATE @ 18:32 – The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have quickly brought the incident under control.
It has been confirmed that an outbuilding to the rear of a residential property has been damaged.
No one is thought to have been injured.
UPDATE @ 19:46 – The fire has been successfully contained and extinguished.
Crews are making up in preparation of leaving the scene and returning to station.
Police have been informed of the incident.
