Firefighters from Newport Fire Station were called to an out of control bonfire in Carisbrooke last night (Saturday).
As Island Echo reported at 20:27 via Twitter, a large plume of black smoke could be seen in the area, sparking concerns of a property fire.
It has been confirmed this morning that crews responded to a out of control bonfire at Whitcombe Road, shortly before 20:20.
Two hours later, retained firefighters from Ryde turned out to a small fire in Ashey.
A fire in a playing field at Haylands Primary School on Bettsworth Road was reported shortly before 22:20. Crews spent just 40 minutes at the scene extinguishing the blaze.
