Creekside WI members have enjoyed a packed programme of activities throughout November as the group looks ahead to a lively Christmas season.
The month began with a festive craft afternoon led by Lisa, with everyone heading home with handmade Christmas decorations. Members were then entertained by Damon from the Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service, whose Number Pick game prompted a series of fascinating and informative stories.
At Book Club, discussion focused on The Circle of Sisters by Judith Flanders, a novel that prompted reflection on the difficult lives faced by women of the era.
Regular favourites continued too, with the monthly coffee morning at Quarr well attended. A singalong with the Methodist Ukulele Group – complete with mulled wine and mince pies – brought extra seasonal cheer.
Pass the Parcel gifts are already wrapped and ready for the group’s Christmas party in December.
Creekside WI meets on the second Wednesday of each month (except August) at 19:15 at the Methodist Church on Station Road, Wootton. The group describes itself as friendly and active, offering a range of fun activities, laughter and good company.
Visitors are warmly welcomed with no obligation to join. Parking is available in the Station Road car park opposite the hall.
