Firefighters are tackling a wood burner fire at a creekside property in Wootton this morning (Friday).
It was at around 10:00 that Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to the incident off New Road, on the banks of Wootton Creek.
2 appliances from Newport and Ryde are on scene with firefighters using hose reel jets and breathing apparatus to tackle the fire – understood to involve a wood burner and its associated ducting.
The situation appears to be under control.
New Road remains open in both directions for those accessing Woodside but is currently restricted for larger vehicles.
