UPDATED: The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, Police and the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are all in attendance at a road traffic collision on West Street in Ryde this lunchtime (Saturday).
3 fire appliances and the rescue tender are on scene alongside 2 ambulances, an ambulance officer and several Police units.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident near the junction with Arthur Street at 12:30.
Island Echo understands fire crews are working to extricate at least 1 person.
The road has been closed in both directions. Motorists are being diverted locally.
UPDATE @ 15:20 – The road has now reopened following the recovery of the vehicles involved.
In total 3 people have been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital, but none have suffered any serious injuries.
