UPDATED: Embankment Road in Bembridge has been closed by Police due to a road traffic collision near to Kings Road.
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance at the scene alongside Police and the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
The incident occurred at just before 15:40
Motorists are being diverted via Yarbridge.
UPDATE @ 16:25 – A motorcyclist has been injured following a collision with a silver Ford Fiesta close to The Pilot Boat Inn pub.
The motorcycle was traveling towards St Helens when it crashed into the driver’s side of the car.
The road remains closed, however the firefighters from Ryde have now been stood down from the incident.
UPDATE @ 17:20 – The injured motorcyclist has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital by ambulance. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Kings Road/Embankment Road has now re-opened under Police direction whilst recovery of the vehicles is arranged.
