4 women from Cowes will set off on a 1,600-mile rally from Surrey to Spain next Wednesday (25th June) to raise funds for the Isle of Wight’s Mountbatten Hospice.
The team is taking part in the Wacky Rally – a 5-day driving challenge that starts at the historic Brooklands track in Surrey and ends in Barcelona, travelling through France and Switzerland along the way.
As part of their fundraising efforts, the team will be touring around the Isle of Wight this weekend in their decorated vehicle named ‘Fabia the Fabulous’ – a car fitted with horns and adorned with Mountbatten sunflowers.
Islanders are encouraged to give them a wave, a honk, and hopefully a donation if they spot Fabia on the road.
Following the rally, Fabia will be recycled and turned into drinks cans for a well-known soft drink brand, giving her a new lease of life after the European adventure.
All funds raised will go towards supporting end-of-life care provided by Mountbatten.
