After sitting empty for well over a year, the former Prezzo building in Newport High Street has a new lease of life – say hello to Correo Lounge.
The new cafe and bar opened its doors on 1st June following an extensive refurbishment, transforming the Italian-style restaurant into an all-day lounge combining elements of a restaurant, British pub and coffee shop culture.
Guests can expect a wide range of food and drink on offer including on Tapas Tuesdays – any 3 tapas meals and a glass of wine for £11.50.
Correo Lounge, part of the Loungers network of 162 establishments across the country, is open from 09:00 each day and closes at 23:00 – midnight on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
The building once housed the county town’s Post Office but was transformed into Prezzo in April 2016. However, Prezzo closed its doors for good in February 2021.
The nearest others Lounges are currently in Southsea (Panero) or Southampton (Maritmo and Trago).
I really do hope this will be a success and a key turning point in the crumbling high street
