CONCERNS GROW FOR MISSING WOMAN

missingmaryfilipinoUPDATED: Concerns are this morning (Wednesday) growing for the welfare of a woman who has gone missing from her home in Ventnor.

Mary Phillips, who is described as 4ft 9″ tall and of Filipino origin, left her home in Ventnor with over £2000 in cash and nothing but the clothes on her back at around 13:00 yesterday afternoon, prompting her husband to contact Police.

A search for Mary, who is thought to have only used public transport once before, is being conducted by officers from Hampshire Constabulary. It is said Mary is not well.

Mary is believed to be wearing a short-cut white jacket and was last seen near to a bus stop in Upper Ventnor.

UPDATE @ 20:45 – Police have confirmed to Mrs Phillip’s family that there is evidence to suggest Mary has left the Island.

The search continues.

UPDATE FRIDAY: Mart Phillips has been found safe and well on the mainland, according to her husband.

Mary came forward to Police yesterday confirming she was safe and had simply left her husband and moved away.

Police are satistified that Mrs Phillips is in no danger.
